Ju Jitsu

Ju Jitsu is an ancient Japanese Martial Art that can be traced back over
2500 years. Its background is based on the myth that it was once
developed by two Gods in order to deal with lawlessness in the Eastern
Japanese provinces. Basing a Martial Art on a myth is synonymous for
ancient Japan.

Ju Jitsu, as a Martial Art, is a unique system of techniques that require
both physically and mentally discipline. It can be used as a form of
self-defense and as a form of offence. It can be performed both armed
and unarmed.

In Ju Jitsu it takes a long time to gain a Black Belt, dedicated students
often take 4 years, or more to get to their first Dan. When first starting Ju
Jitsu you do not require to be fit, as Ju Jitsu is designed to help you to
become fit. However, once a person reaches a certain level of Ju Jitsu,
they must maintain a high level of fitness in order to complete the moves
successfully.
