Ninjutsu
Ninjutsu is an authentic Martial art that originated in Japan. However,
Ninjutsu is made up of a combination of both Chinese and Japanese
Martial Arts. Ninjutsu is best used as an effective means of defense
against an attacker. Ninjutsu achieves this through the use of various
Martial arts techniques and tools.
The principle teacher of Ninjutsu is called a 'Grand Master' and his
students are known as 'Ninja'. Within Ninjutsu there are various
sub-styles, such as Genbukan Ninjutsu, Bujinkan Ninjutsu and Shinobi-Kai
Ninjutsu. The art of using many different forms of defense within Ninjutsu
has its roots in Japanese history, as Ninja were often subjected to
various attacks, they had to be prepared themselves for all situations.
Traditionally, Ninjutsu Masters would hand down their skills through oral
lessons given to their students followed by demonstrations. It is
documented that Samurai often employed Ninja because of their particular
skills. Ninjutsu training consists of a number of techniques involving
falling, rolling, leaping, avoidance and weapons.
