Types of Exercise

There are different types of exercise that are designed for different
reasons. Some are designed to promote strength, while others are
designed to aid in a particular medical treatment. Some exercise is done
through individual desire, while some exercise is done in preparation for
other purposes, such as work, or competition.

Essentially, there are three areas of exercise and these include, aerobic
exercise, strength training and flexibility exercises. Aerobic exercise is
designed to raise your heart rate and work your muscles; strength
training is designed to strengthen bones and muscles, while flexible
exercises are designed to increase the flexibility of your joints to reduce
injury during other activities.

Although there are many exercises that we undertake within a defined
program, there are also exercises that we do throughout our daily
routine, such as walking along the street, or up stairs, working in the
garden, or even doing the weekly shopping. Also, some forms of
exercise can be fun, such as dancing and ice-skating.

With such a range of types of exercise, there is room for including some
form of exercise within your day. Experts are now suggesting that if you
do not have time to attend aerobics classes, think of other ways you can
incorporate exercise into your lifestyle routine.
