Walking



Walking is a natural way to maintain your body's health. Whether walking
to work, or joining a power-walking program, walking is one of easiest
ways to keep fit. Walking is a gentle exercise that is effective in building
your body's Aerobic fitness, maintaining a healthy metabolism and
improving oxygen flow within your body.

Almost everyone walks on a daily basis and there are many ways to
implement walking into your weekly routine. If you own a dog, then you
most likely already walk to the park, many people go for evening walks
and some people will go on walking hikes during their holiday trips.

In order for walking to be effective, you should walk for at least 30
minutes, several times a week. Walking should be done at a medium pace
and the pace should be maintained. Always make sure you have
comfortable shoes and include some warm up exercises, prior to the
walk, and some cool down exercises, after the walk. Finally, remember
to dress appropriately, depending upon the weather, and to drink lots of
water, as your body will need its fluids to be maintained.
